Saratoga Race Course, The Sport of Kings
We’re home to the country’s oldest and most beautiful Thoroughbred race track. Get up early and watch the horses train at the Saratoga Race Course. Have breakfast at the track and take a guided backstretch tour. Take in the sights and sounds of the very best this grand sport has to offer. You could also watch a polo match, or go over and see the trotters run. This is horse country in all its glory, all at the Saratoga Race Course.
Take in the Saratoga Ballet or the Orchestra at SPAC
The Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) is the summer home to the New York City Ballet, the Saratoga Ballet and the Philadelphia Orchestra, it also hosts the renowned Saratoga Jazz Festival — in addition to a spectacular line-up of the biggest names in music and entertainment. There are also the theatre, dance, Opera, Shakespeare in the Park and musical performances at Skidmore College, folk music at Caffè Lena, jazz and club performances, and live music at many area venues, it all converges at SPAC.
History comes alive
Saratoga helped shape American history in a big way. You’ll experience this when you walk around Saratoga National Historical Park, site of one of the 15 most important battles in world history. Saratoga County is also home to ten museums, including the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame, the National Museum of Dance, the National Bottle Museum, the New York State Military Museum, Automobile Museum, the Waterford History Museum, the Brookside Museum, the Saratoga Children's Museum, and several local history museums such as Grants Cottage.

In the over 1,000 beautiful buildings on the National Historic Register, the many great old Victorian homes, and the mineral springs that have served the needs of visitors for centuries. Take a step back in time with a train ride on the Saratoga North Creek Railway or take a cruise along the Champlain or Erie Canals.

From the scenic Hudson and Mohawk Rivers and Great Sacandaga Lake, to the Southern Adirondack Mountains, the 2000 acre Saratoga Spa State Park and beautiful Moreau State Park, you’ll find so many things to do outside. Swim, boat, or go camping. Fish in Saratoga Lake. Take advantage of excellent birding opportunities, nature trails and preserves.
Fun and games at the Saratoga Fair
If it’s sports you’re interested in, we’ve got plenty to keep you happy. There are 14 golf courses in the area, including one that wins national awards for excellence. In July, bring the whole family to the marvelous Saratoga Fair. Take part in our County's many 5K and10K road races, the Firecracker 4, cycling events and triathlons, as well as whitewater rafting and kayaking.
You might also enjoy a night at the Saratoga Casino and Raceway, where you’ll also find the trotters racing.
