Fun for the Whole Family
We've got so many things for you to do, the hardest part will be
figuring out where to begin and who gets to choose!
1) Congress Park
It's located right in the center of Saratoga Springs, and includes an antique carousel, duck pond, natural mineral springs, and beautiful grounds to have a picnic or let the kids run around. Then you can skip over to Ben and Jerry's for a sweet treat.
2) Children's Museum at Saratoga
Kids can learn and play at the same time. With interactive exhibits for children aged 1 to 9, your child can stand inside a bubble, enjoy the creative history of Lillian’s attic, or hop aboard a train and head to wherever the imagination leads.
3) Saratoga Spa State Park
There are so many recreational opportunities for all ages in every season, including swimming, golf (par 29 great for kids/families), walking, running and biking trails, fishing, cross country skiing, ice skating, snow shoeing. The Park is also home to two museums, a resort and spa, and a performing arts center.
4) Creative Sparks
Paint pottery. Build Mosaics. Fuse Glass. With over 300 items to choose from, there's certainly something for you all to do! No need to call ahead, unless you’ve got a really large clan. They even offer individualized attention if you’d like it. They also have painted samples, idea books, stamps and stencils for extra inspiration.
5) Northshire Books
Right on Broadway and full of great books and one-of-a-kind gifts for every age. Not sure what you want to read? Ask the well-read staff for a recommendation. Or pop in for one of their weekly events. While you're there, sign up for one of the reading groups.
6) Saratoga Strike Zone
Need a rainy day solution? Bowling, Ballocity play area, Bumper Cars, food and more, can do the trick. Not into the music and hub bub of the main room? Book the private VIP bowling lanes. Sun-Thurs 8am - midnight. Fri-Sat 8am - 2pm.
7) Family Saturdays at the Tang Museum
Free and open to the public, with most programs running from 2:00-3:30pm. Great for kids 5 and older. Includes a tour and discussion of an exhibit and hands-on art activity. Materials are provided. The only thing you need to bring is your imagination.
8) Elms Family Farm
Opens in mid September. This wonderful family-centered attraction includes a corn maize, pumpkin patch, jumping pillow, and MooMooChooChoo Train. There’s literally acres of fun going on here.
