Education

Living in an area as historic as Saratoga is a continuing education course all by itself. Add to that a climate of appreciation for culture and innovation, and it's not surprising the area is so rich in educational opportunity.

Saratoga County is home to Skidmore College and SUNY Empire State College as well as some of the finest k-12 public and private schools you'll find in the world. Our residents have access to satellite campuses for SUNY Adirondack and Hudson Valley Community colleges as well as programs offered by Bryant & Stratton and the Schenectady County Community college. We have educational programs for children with special needs as well as those looking for an International Baccalaureate program. The diversity of options for local children and adult learners is really extraordinary.

Nearly 94 percent of Saratoga County's adults 25 years of ago or older have obtained a high school diploma. 38 percent of these adults have obtained a bachelor's degree or higher. Saratoga's youth are privileged to live in communities where the school systems are superb - consistently scoring well above average in statewide testing. Youth sports are also an integral part of the county's communities and schools.
