ArtsFestFridays - Universal Preservation Hall Goes Avant Garde

For one night only, Universal Preservation Hall in downtown Saratoga Springs will become a vibrant vessel for creative, unconventional, and joyful music and movement. The evening – co-produced by SaratogaArtsFest and Spring Street Gallery – will showcase gospel songs, a musical mélange, an inventive and exploratory work featuring accomplished modern dancers, along with, eye-catching video effects and a participatory project with a painter in the lobby. Beer and wine tasting round out the night, and revelers can grab a gourmet goodie or apples and cider before heading out to enjoy Saratoga’s wonderful nightlife, or stay for an extended dance mix.

The Hunt for History and Horses

The Hunt for History and Horses event scheduled to take place at Saratoga Race Course has been moved to indoors at the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame. Family fun while learning about the history of thoroughbred racing and its connection to Saratoga Springs. The event will now be a free event and admission to the Museum is free throughout the day. There will also be equine artists on hand selling their work, as well as raffles, food and movies throughout the day in the Hall of Fame.

Meet at the visitor center for basic historical background, then head onto the Battlefield to capture inspiring views in paint, pencil, pastel, or pixel! Let the rangers at the front desk know you are coming as an artist and they will give you a free day pass. If you wish to allow the park to use your art, please provide your email address.
