If you’ve come to Saratoga to watch history making thoroughbred racing, there is still plenty to do on Dark Day when there is no racing.
Head to a museum around the county and learn about the history of horse racing, dance, automobiles, New York State military, bottles, plus local and state history and so much more. The Children’s Museum of Saratoga Springs also has fun for the little ones or take in some art at The Tang Museum at Skidmore. Outdoor recreation is abundant with state, national and local parks with hundreds of miles of nature trails and paths for biking, walking or hiking. Saratoga also has lakes and creeks for water fun, kayaking, canoeing, fishing or just swimming. Hit the links at area golf courses, as Golf Digest has recognized Saratoga County as one of the best places to play golf.
Enjoy a spa day full of relaxation and pampering or head downtown for some retail therapy at dozens of specialty shops. Grab a bite to eat at some of the best eateries and just stroll around town admiring the architecture, tasting the natural springs that made us famous or head to the Beekman Street Art District for that one-of-a-kind unique art piece. There is something for everyone.
